Cookie Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-15
This cookie policy describes which cookies the Jutusta service (jutusta.ee) uses and how to manage them.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Cookies are used to remember sign-in state, store preferences or measure usage.
2. Which cookies we use
Jutusta currently uses only one strictly necessary cookie, set after you sign in via Google:
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
better-auth.session_token | Maintain the signed-in session | HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax | 7 days |
This cookie is strictly necessary for the service to function and does not require separate consent under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. The cookie is set only when you actively sign in.
3. Browser local storage
In addition to the cookie, we use the browser's localStorage to keep your
preferences. This data never leaves your browser. For example:
jutusta:transcribe-lang:v1— transcription language preference;jutusta:transcribe-live-mode:v1— real-time speech recognition mode;jutusta:voice-pref:v1— selected voice;app.sidebar.collapsed— UI layout.
4. Third-party resources
Loading the website makes no requests to third-party CDNs. Fonts (Playfair Display and
Source Sans 3) are self-hosted on our own jutusta.ee domain. The only case
where the browser opens a connection to Google's servers is the Google Sign-In flow — this is triggered only when the user clicks "Sign in with Google".
5. Why we do not show a consent banner
The service uses no analytics, marketing or advertising cookies. Only a strictly necessary session cookie is set, which under the ePrivacy Directive Article 5(3) exemption does not require consent. For this reason no cookie banner is displayed. If we add non-essential processing in the future, we will request your consent separately.
6. Managing cookies
You can clear all cookies from your browser settings. Deleting the session cookie signs you out — you will need to sign in again on your next visit.
